SAIP Announces the extension of statutory deadlines for the services provided to its clientsPublic Relations
The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property announced the provision of a package of exceptions to support its customers in accordance with the rules stipulated in international treaties and local regulations and in accordance with the powers granted to it by a system in the fields of intellectual property for all patents, industrial designs, planning designs for integrated circuits, plant varieties, copyright, neighboring rights and trademarks.
The initiative was to extend the statutory deadlines until 10 Ramadan 1441( May 3, 2020 ) for each of the services such as completing the requirements for submission or responses related to the procedures for granting, registering or amending all areas of intellectual property, and paying registration or renewal fees for intellectual property fields (annual fee) in addition to receiving the original documents of documents related to trademarks from the concerned authorities.
This follows the statement of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property regarding business continuity due to the necessary measures and the provision of exceptions required by the current stage to support respect for intellectual property and promote its use.
